It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a field quartered of yellow and blue.

Shield Azure, two storks statant Proper, in chief a heart Gules pinched seven times and having an aureole Argent. In base a bunch of rice ears Or tied Gules. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials "CARAPINHEIRA" or "VILA DE CARAPINHEIRA".

Carapinheira Commune is one of the 11 communes of the Montemor-o-Velho municipality (q.v.); it had 2898 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 12.3 km².
