Shield Argent on a mound Vert a quiver with its arrows Or emphasized Sable per pale and on the chief a Roman sword (lit.: "gládio", not "espada") per fess Gules hilted Sable.
Mural crown argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "SALDANHA"
Meaning:
The village name probably derived, as many others throughout the world, from the Leonese town Saldaña (nowadays in Palencia Province, Spain; its toponym is claimed to be Latin "saltus Dianae", "Diana's woods", and, as such, it could be also a case of multiple emergence as a toponym. The arms doesn't reflect either of these etymologies (which could have been done, for instance, by including a variation of the Mendoça family arms, or any of Diana's attributes). The arms instead show tokens of weaponry and orography; I have no knowledge about the reasons for this choice. Diana of the Hunt is represented adequately by the quiver of arrows.
