It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a field quartered of yellow and blue.

Coat of arms

Shield Azure a fess wavy Argent, in chief a Greek cross Gules fimbriated and crowned Or between two lettuces Vert fimbriated Or, in base 14 honeycombs Or ordered 2:3:4:3:2. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "MOSCAVIDE".
Meaning:
The two lettuces are symbolizing the former importance of agriculture. Especially vegetables were cultivated here for the Lisbon markets. The crowned cross is alluding to the Quinta do Cabeço, the Patriarchal Seminary of Christ the King, the former seminary and now seat of the Cardinal Patriarch of Lisbon. The fess wavy is representing river Tejo. The honeycomb in base is refering to the density of population in the commune and the many different people of Moscavide.

Moscavide Commune was one of the pre-2013 communes of Loures Municipality (q.v.); it had 14 266 inhabitants in 2011 and covered 1.1 km².

It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain yellow field.

Coat of arms

Shield Azure divided by an aqueduct Argent masoned Sable with five archs, in chief a cross Or flanked by two open books Argent, in base a fruited branch of olive Or. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank)and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "PORTELA - LOURES".
Meaning:
The aqueduct is representing that one crossing river Alviela. The olive branch is symbolizing the importance of olive oil as a main business line. The cross is representing the church of Christ the King, the local patron saint. The books are representing the establishment of educational institutes in the commune.
