Shield Argent a fess Sable charged with three wheat ears Or arrayed in fess, accompanied by an orbicular cross Gules
in dexter chief and a cross of the Order of the Knights of Christ in sinister chief dexter, in base a fess wavy Azure.
Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "VILA DE FERREIRA DO ZÊZERE".
Meaning:
"Ferreira" relates to a blacksmith or to his shop (not refered on the coat of arms), "do" means "of the", and "Zêzere" is the name of a river (largest tributary of the Tagus on portuguese territory), depicted on the coat of arms by a wavy fess. The other charges refer to the local importance of wheat and to the Orders Templar and of Christ’s Knights.

Ferreira do Zêzere municipality had 9650 inhabitants in 1990, and it is divided in 9 communes,
covering 189 km2. It belongs to the Santarém District and to the old province of Ribatejo.
