The independent communes of São Bento do Ameixial and Santa Vitória do Ameixial merged in 2013, forming the new Ameixial commune.

Shield Gules, a plum tree eradicated Vert blossomed Argent, in chief a crozier Or tied with a scarf Argent (white) and a patriarch's cross Argent crossed per saltire. Mural crown with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "S. BENTO DO AMEIXIAL".

São Bento do Ameixial was one of the pre-2013 communes of Estremoz Municipality. It had 335 inhabitants in 2011 and covered 41,98 km².

Shield Argent three Ionian columns ordered 2:1, the lower column topped by a crown proper. Mural crown with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "SANTA VITÓRIA DO AMEIXIAL".
Meaning:
The columns are alluding to the Tuscan Order.
