It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain blue field.

Shield Argent divided by a saltire Azure, in chief quarter a grapevine Purpure leaved Vert, in base quarter a potatoe shrub Proper, and a heraldic fountain in both other quarters. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "CORDINHÃ".
Meaning:
The saltire is representing St. Andrew, the local patron saint. The grapevine is symbolizing viticulture, one of the oldest and most developed activities of the commune, which is famous for its vines. The fountains are symbolizing the local riches of water having 12 natural fountains. The shrub is symbolizing agriculture as an important activity.
