It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain yellow field.

Shield Vert, a plough Argent between three sheaves of wheat Or tied Gules ordered 2:1, in central chief a fleur-de-lis Argent. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "NOSSA SENHORA DAS NEVES - BEJA".
Meaning:
The fleur-de-lis is an attribute of Our Lady of the Snows, the local patron saint.
