Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "BAÇAL".
Meaning:
The arms refer to a famous local, the 19-20th century self-taught polymath Francisco Manuel Alves, Abbot of Baçal (and metonymically known as such: Abade de Baçal) - writer, historian, genealogist, and archaeologist.
