It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain yellow field (village rank).

The arms are Gules two oars Argent crossed per saltire, in chief a scallop Or garnished Sable, in base a dustpan Or garnished Sable. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "ALDREU"
Meaning:
Acording to Sérgio Horta the dustpan refers to local traditional handicraft of brooms, dusters, and dustpans, while the oars refer to local traditional oar manufacture. The scallop stands for local patron St. James.
