Shield Or with base wavy of Azure and Argent, a fleur-de-lis Azure garnished Argent, flanked by two olive branches Vert in saltire, fruited Sable and tied Gules. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "FREGUESIA DE AROUCA".

Arouca Commune was one of the pre-2013 communes of Arouca Municipality; it had 3185 inhabitants in 2011 and covered 8.5 km².

Shield Gules; an embattled tower Argent, masoned Sable with port and windows Sable, flanked by two corn plants Or, in chief a biscuit Or. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll (Bénard Guedes style) with inscription in black capitals "BURGO".
Meaning:
The tower is representing a medieval tower located at Lourosa de Campos. The corn cobs are representing agriculture as the exclusive business line. The biscuit is a typical local speciality.
