It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a field quartered of white and green.

The arms are Gules a bridge Argent masoned Sable issuant from a base wavy of Argent charged with a bar wavy Azure and in chief on an inescutcheon Argent - flanked by two wheat ears Or - a cross fleury Vert. Mural crown argent with three visible towers (commune rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "Seda".
Meaning:
"Seda" means silk in Portuguese, but this is not reflected on the arms. Instead the inescutcheon refers to the local historical importance of the the Avis Order and to local landmarks and products.

Seda Commune is one of the four communes of the Alter do Chão Municipality; it had 389 inhabitants in 2001 and covers 112.23 km².
