Meaning:
he chestnut tree stands for the local importance of chestnut trees and the books stand for local writers and the local´s erudition.

Sambade was one of the six communes of Alfândega da Fé Municipality not affected by the 2013 changes ; it had 374 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 31,49 km².
