Its flag is green, with a darker green four-leafed
clover and the party’s name in white. You can see it at
www.mpt.pt/politica/politica.htm.

The symbol of this party is a quatrefoil, and the flag design was taken
from the party’s website (I never saw this flag “in the
cloth”). Two shades of green (dark quatrefoil on lighter background)
and white lettering "MPT / Movimento Partido da Terra".

Movimento Partido da Terra (Earth Party Movement) was created some
ten years ago, embodying a strong trend in the Portuguese society of people
envolved in environment politics by clearly not sympathizing with the existing
Green Party. Some of these people come from the
Monarchic Party (in its previous environmentalist
/ ruralist reencarnation) and others from all over the political spectrum.

The Movimento o Partido da Terra (MPT) is an environmentalist
party in Portugal. Its name may be translated as "Movement of the Earth Party",
but I’m not quite sure, since the Portuguese word "terra" has several
meanings: Earth, world, globe, land, soil, ground, shore, coast, country,
territory, birthplace, estate. As an environmentalist party perhaps the word
means really all of this.
