Settlement dates back to the early 13th century. Nothing remarkable happened there, except the usual - wars, wars and more wars, and one guy, Jan, eloped with his neighbour's daughter.
Arms and flag adopted on February 27, 2003 (resolution # V/39/2003)
"Arms: On a red field a gold defensive gate, open wide, with the silver
initial "G" in it.
Flag: rectangular triband in the ratio 5:8
Upper band - gold, middle band - silver, lower band - red.
Ceremonial flag has the Arms placed in the center of the flag."
