1256 - first mentioned.
1260 - probable date of the city rightś granting
1327 - mentioned as the town
1626 - looted by the Danish troops of Mansfeld
1921 - in the plebiscite, 2/3 of the inhabitants voted to stay in Germany
1945 - (January 22) - Red Army enters the town
Arms and flag adopted on June 25, 2008 (resolution # XXIV/194/08).
"Arms: on the red, late-gothic shield, two silver crenelated towers
with the black shooting openings and behind the defensive brick wall (silver).
Flag: red rectangle in ratio 5:6 with the Arms in the center The town
has also a banner and a standard."
