First written mention in 1424 - establishment of the parish. It used to have an archaic, hand operated wooden water pump at the Market Square before WW II.
Arms and flag adopted on March 23, 2009 (resolution # XXII/96/2009).
"Arms - on the Spanish shield and on the gold field there is a red
church with the black roof and black windows and doors. On its sides there
are two lilies with silver stems and golden leaves. (!Image doesn't
match the description!).
Flag - a rectangle in the ratio 5:8 composed of three uneven bands
in proportions of 1:3:1.
The upper and lower, narrow bands are yellow and the middle one, wide,
is red. On the red band the Arms are placed."
The author of these symbols is the world-renowned vexilollogist, Mr.Alfred
Znamierowski.
