Arms: on the light-blue shield there is a three-story bell tower (silver)
covered with the golden, peeked roof, topped with the golden Latin cross.
On its right is a golden key and on the left - a sword with the silver
blade and golden handle.
On the first floor there is an open gate with the crowned monogram
"K", all gold. On the second floor there is a gallery and above it - a
window, and higher yet, two columns supporting the roof.
The tower in the Coat of Arms is patterned after the XVI Century municipal seal
of Szczerców. The key and the sword are the attributes of the Saints Peter
and Paul, patrons of the local church and parish for over 500 years.
Crowned monogram "K" is patterned on the ornaments of the "Iron Gates"
of Wawel Cathedral in Kraków and is the symbol of King Casimir the Great,
who founded the town and endowed the church and parish.
Light-blue color of the shield symbolizes the faith and holiness and
is often used in the Arms of the royal towns.
Flag: Three vertical bands - on the outside - light-blue, and
the middle one, with the Arms, is white and double the width of the other
two.
