District of Unicachi is in Province of Yunguyo in Region
of Puno, Peru. It was formed in 1982. The center is the village of Marcaja.
It has area of 9 km² and population of 3006. The flag was adopted
18.05.1996. It is well presented
on municipal website, in Spanish.
Valentin Poposki, 14 Jun 2007
It is mostly the usual claptrap the flag was created as «inspired by» local
student Tatiana Violeta Coarita Yapuchura, apparently winner of a competition
held during the mayorship of Alejandro Coarita Yapuchura (her father?), probably
meaning the adopted design was modified upon the original proposal. Adopted in
1996 «recognized» on Aug.14th by «Resolución Directoral Nro.
106-96-INC-DD-PUNO»; «proclaimed» on May 18th.
The image online at
the official website seems to be somehow distorted, but the description is not
clear about angles and relative sizes.
