Blazon: I grønt tre innbøyde sølv sparrer. In English: Vert three chevronels
embowed argent.
Approved by the crownprince-regent's resolution of 12 October 1990
As explained at
http://www.flatanger.kommune.no/kommunevaapen.4558721-107320.html the three
embowed chevronels are reminding on the bow of a ship seen from the front. The
green colour stands from the agriculture, the silver for the fishing - the main
industries in the region.
