The design symbolizes the Mardalsfossen (Mardals waterfall) in Eikesdal. It is
composed of two parts, and with two ca. 300 m high free falls it is considered
the highest waterfall in Norway. In 1970' s hydroelectric power-plant was build
using it, however, during the summer the water is left to fall naturally, while
otherwise it goes through the power plant.
