Blazon: I sølv en svart moskus. In English: Argent a musk oxen sable.
Approved by the royal resolution of 11 July 1986 after a drawing by Einar
Skjervold. [c2j87]
The musks were imported to Dovre plateau from Greenland in 1930's in an attempt
to herd them for wool industry. Eventually, they were not used for this purpose,
but a steady population of musks is widely known characteristic of Dovre.
