Nordre Follo Municipality was created on 1
January 2020 by the merger of Ski Municipality and Oppegård Municipality.

The blazon is I blått tre sølv hestehoder i trepass. In English: azure three
horse heads, necks conjoined, argent.
It was approved by the royal resolution of 19 December 1986, drawn by Truls
Nygaard.
The design is heraldrization of a "vignette" used as the municipal emblem since
the erection of the new townhall in 1975. The horse heads were chosen for the
same reason as we have seen in Skedsmo some days ago - canting from the root of
the name meaning horse racing track.
