Indre Østfold Municipality was created on 1
January 2020 by the merger of five municipalities: Askim Municipality, Eidsberg
Municipality, Hobøl Municipality, Spydeberg Municipality and Trøgstad
Municipality.

Or better: Vert a riband argent streching palewise nebully? Alhtough I find no
confirmation for such expression in traditional English heraldry...)
Approved by the royal resolution of 30 August 1985 after a drawing by Truls
Nygaard.
The design represent the silver Hobølelva river forming meandres though a green
valley.
