Blazon: I rødt en gull båt med mast og beslått storseil. In English: Gules a
boat with a mast and closed sail.
Approved by the royal resolution of 16 April 1982 after a drawing by Gunnar Coll
Langvik and Hans Krå. [c2j87]
In 1860's there were important finds of Viking artefacts made in Rolvsøy, and
among them a boat that became known as the Tuneskippet - today in a museum in
Bygdøy. At the time Rolvsøy was part of the Tune municipality. The design in the
arms is such as could have been used in the Middle Ages.
