Scherpenzeel forms a sharp point in the Gelderland-Utrecht border, nearly an
exclave. It's a rural communities with cackling chickens on the farmyard and in
the past suffered from floods and several wars.
The old flag was unofficial BW horizontally. The new flag is derived from the
municipal Coat of Arms, the same as of the former lordship of Scherpenzeel.
