The swan reminds of the large flocks of swans hibernating near the
village on the IJsselmeer - some of them stay there all year.
Koarnwert is a small village (c. 100 inh.) at a stonethrow from the
Ofslútdyk (enclosuredam, which connects Holland to Fryslân
and the rest of the world). Agriculture and cattle-breeding. Obe Postma,
a Frisian poet, was born here.
