Effen

[Effen flag] image located by Valentin Poposki, 12 December 2023

From https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vlag_van_Effen:

The Effen flag was introduced by the village of Effen in 2022. It was designed by Effen resident Bart Lauwen, with the participation of the other villagers. The flag is gyronny in white, orange and green. The center of the flag contains a blue coat of arms with a red vertical stripe. The red stripe includes three Breda Andreas crosses and the 'Zeldenrust' at the bottom of the disappeared mill.

The colors all have their own meaning:
The green is from the meadows, nature and the flag of Princenhage to which Effen belonged for a long time;
The orange is reminiscent of the roof tiles of the church and the rusty ditch of the Turfvaart near Effen;
The blue line from left to right diagonally symbolizes the water of the Aa or Weerrijs that flows past Effen;
The center of the flag consists of the coat of arms with the mill after which Effen is named with a red banner with the crosses of Breda;
The motif of the colored surfaces is reminiscent of the blades of the former Effen mill.
The white areas symbolize the four regions of Effen, namely Overa, the Rith, 't Hout and Effen.
