The Lagos Yacht Club was founded in 1932 on Lagos Island. Background on the Club can be found on its website.
The design of the flags of the Club comprise a red cross on a dark blue background. In the centre of the cross are two interlocking green triangles to form a six pointed star. This symbol is similar to the badge of Colonial Nigeria and found on the colonial ensigns prior to independence.
