The flag of the North Province is white with the province's logo, made of a black rooftop spear superimposed to the blue map of the province. The writing "PROVINCE NORD", in black Italic letters is placed below the emblem.
The lack of the writing "NOUVELLE-CALEDONIE" and
the use of the Kanak rooftop spear and yellow disk recall that the Kanak population is dominant in the the Province, which is an independentist stronghold (20 out of the 22 representatives are from independentist parties).
