Oranjemund (German for the "Mouth of Orange") is so called because it is located on the northern bank of the Orange River in the !Karas Region, in the extreme south-west of Namibia. The main economic activity is alluvial diamond mining and production is around 2 million carats (400kg) per annum.

Two flags have been registered
by Oranjemund in 2015. The flags have a white field on one of which is
the formal municipal Arms and on the other is the municipal logo.
