The coat of arms was adopted during the term of Vicente Iñigo (1979-1982), being adopted by a popular vote. The coat of arms has a white border, reading DIVISADEROS, SONORA at the top. The inner area is divided into four triangles. The left section depicts a cow head, symbol of cattle-raising the state is known for. The right section depicts three corn plants over soil, symbol of agriculture that sustains the population. The lower section depicts the entire form of the Nuestra Señora del Carmen church, symbol of faith. The upper section depicts the hill in the town, which has a walkway, three crosses, and trees.
