The council informed me their coat of arms was adopted officially on 1 September 2003 through an Ordinary Session of the Council. It was designed by the Architect Amado Juan Sánchez Cabrera. It is composed of an oval, and has in its center a smaller oval ring that reads "EL AYUNTAMIENTO DE LA CONGEREGASION DE LA SOLEDAD", which means "THE COUNCIL OF THE CONGREGATION OF LA SOLEDAD"; note, this is in old Spanish, and is read on a stone medallion in the principal plaza. The lower half of the ring depicts pearls, also found on the monument. At the bottom, a scroll shape is found. In the inner area of the coat of arms, the mountains seen from the city (Reposa and El Chiquihuitillo) are observed, serving as the municipal boundary from Cerro de San Pedro. From this, the shape of the Municipality emerges from rays of light. To its right, the sun is also seen. The lower-left depicts a ploughed field for local agriculture; the lower-right depicts the year 1767, of its foundation, next to a grid for the city. In the center, a sundial, emblem of the city, is represented. Just above it is a chimney with smoke emerging from it, signifying its industrial potential.
