The coat of arms of San Francisco del Rincón was adopted in 1945 under Municipal President Dr. Pascual Aceves Barajas (1944-1945). It was designed by José Ruteaga Jiménez. Over the shield is a helmet for its colonial history. The inner area is divided into three sections diagonally. In the center is a circle, reading in its border "SIEMPRE LIBRE" [Always Free] and within it the figure of San Francisco de Asís, patron saint and namesake of the municipality. The upper-left section depicts a hill and spring with a rising sun representing the foundation of the city, elements of the environment here. In the central band, in the upper-right is a palm tree signifying the principal industry of the town: making palm sombreros; in the lower-left is a beehive and bees signifying the hard work and industriousness of the inhabitants. The lower-right section depicts a fort, signifying the fortitude of the municipality.
