The coat of arms of Doctor Mora was designed in 1964, being designed by Guillermo Valencia Arvizu, adopted through a call for submissions which Municipal President Pablo Cortés Robles (1964-1966). The official use of it started in 1976, becoming recognized as official in 1982. The coat of arms depicts a shield over leather, having corn cobs to the sides for agriculture. Under it is a laurel and olive branch crossed together, symbol of victory. The shield is divided into three sections: the upper-left section depicts a sun with 16 points, symbolizing abundance, clarity, wealth, friendship, and the inspiration for a better future; the upper-right section depicts a halfmoon carrying a star of five points, signifying honesty of the inhabitants. The lower half depicts a scene with a cactus and an agave plant over the soil with the Cerro de la Cruz in the background, signifying the production of prickly pear and pulque of the municipality.
