The coat of arms was adopted during the term of Municipal President Agustín Cordero Aguirre (1988-1990), where a call for submissions was launched under his administration; the designers of the coat of arms are: Bertha Alicia Quintero Camporredondo, Rosalinda Arredondo, and the Municipal President himself. The current coat of arms takes elements from the three designs. The border is scrolled, reading LAMADRID COAHUILA at the top; and TRABAJO Y LEALTAD [Work and Loyalty] at the bottom. For the inner area: at the upper-left, an image of the Marqués de Aguayo Canyon and its waterfall, sustaining the people of Lamadrid. The upper-right depicts the sun and a field of wheat, remembering agriculture. The lower section has two hands open and products of the Valley: watermelon, corn, tomato, apple, oranges.
