In latvian, Malta (island) and Malta
(village, river) are written identicaly but have no connections.
Village untill 1936 was named Borovaja and was renamed according
to river Malta (malt - to mill in latvian). Maltas pagasts untill
1925 was named Rozentovas pagasts.
