Daniel Rentería, 31 August 2022
To quote the Lithuanian Heraldry Commission, the chagres used on the coat of arms "symbolizes blacksmithing and the tradition of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This coat of arms belongs to the group of canting arms. The name of the area comes from the word blacksmith (kalvis in Lithuanian)." The author of the coat of arms and flag is Rolandas Rimkunas.
