fringe is silver, finial is a golden knob with a ring. The wheel
symbolizes the main factors of development of the town: the
Riga-Tilsit road and the widely-known markets. The leaves of oak
symbolize both the Samogitian fortitude and the 13 oaks preserved
around the town as monuments of nature.
