Josvainiai (Kedainiai District) - on a silver field with a
green base a forward looking silver knight mounted on a backward
going red horse, the knight holds a silver saber with golden
hilt, knight's helmet decorated with four feathers of ostrich:
two golden and two blue, from the knight's right shoulder to left
hip bent red band, saddle is blue. Flag proportions 10:11, free
edges bordered with a narrow red stripe, finial is a golden tip,
staff is dark grey. The charge of arms granted in 1792 contains
numerous heraldic errors, its picture is untidy, and it differs
quite significantly from the text of privilege, but it is very
similar to the arms of Veivirzenai granted 3 days before. The
researchers guess that the clerk was not educated in heraldry,
and also he liked making his job easier. Anyway, the Lithuanian
Heraldry Commission decided keeping the modern charge as close to
the historical one as possible. The charge should symbolize
readiness to defend the country and rights by weapon.
