LGBT Flag (South Korea)

South Korean LGBT flag is derived from the national flag by repainting four trigrams into the rainbow colors as follows:

- in the trigrams at the hoist, the bars closest to the flag corners are red, those in the middle are orange, and those closest to the flag center are yellow;
- in the trigrams at the fly, the bars closest to the flag center are green, those in the middle are blue, and those closest to the flag corners are violet.

The shade of blue used in the flag (both in the trigrams and the yin-yang symbol) is lighter than in the national flag.

The first currently known use of the flag was at the Seoul Queer Culture Festival on 2018-07-14 [1]. It was used again at the next year's event, which took place on 2019-06-01 [2]. Later on, it was also seen at the Taiwan Pride in Taipei on 2019-10-26 [3], the flag being only partly visible, still revealing enough elements for identification. Very few available sources suggest that the flag is still not widely used.
