The flag of the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) is a red (for the army), light blue (for
the air force) and navy blue (for the navy) horizontal tricolour with the
national flag (one-third the length and width of the ensign) in the canton.
The Kenya Defence Forces emblem is in the fly which comprises two black rifles
crossed in saltire superimposed on a silver anchor, with a golden eagle, all
above a golden scroll with the words KENYA DEFENCE FORCES in black.
Note that when not used on this flag, the KDF emblem has red
crossed rifles, a navy blue anchor, and a golden eagle, above a white scroll
with the words in black.

The flag of the Kenya Defence Forces, i.e. the "Joint Service Flag" as it would be
called elsewhere is based on a design in the "British tradition". There is
an emblem in the fly, as can be seen at
http://www.mod.go.ke/ but with the guns on the flag being in black, no doubt
to show better contrast to the red stripe.
