Located in Shinjuku City Tokyo and established in 1949.
The embroidered ceremonial flag has dark red background with a gold emblem and vertically gold university name in gold fringe. Adopted on March 31, 1951.
The university flag has red background with a yellow emblem and yellow kanji university name vertically written.
The university emblem is a graphic representation of Chinese letters 理大
an abbreviation of the university name.

Hardball tennis club; The club flag has maroon background with a white university emblem and horizontally written kanji university and club name in white. The university emblem is a graphic representation of the general theory of relativity established by Einstein (it schematically depicts the orbit of light bent by the gravity of the sun).
