The university flag is white background with a blue and sky blue emblem and horizontally written in blue kanji university name.
The university emblem combines the ripples of "Shiga of Ripples" with the waves of light that "illuminate a corner".
A rippling wave from the outside toward the center - this is people's expectation of medical science. The outward wave of light illuminating a corner from the center - this is the answer to people's expectations. Dr. Maihara (Kyoto City University of Arts) was commissioned to create the design, which was approved at the Faculty Meeting in April 1981. The two colors were selected at the faculty meeting in September 1988.
