Located in Setagaya City Tokyo and established in 1949.

The university emblem is the national flower, the cherry blossom, with five petals, each with three stamens. In it is depicted the "Mirror of Yata " (one of the three sacred objects, said to be a reflection of Amaterasu's own image), a symbol of the ancient traditions of Japan, and the determination to nurture women worthy of representing Japan. The kanji word 昭和 "Showa" is inscribed within it.
