Located in Sapporo City Hokkaido Prefecture and established in 1967.
The embroidered ceremonial flag has purplish blue background with a gold and silver emblem and vertically written in gold kanji university name in gold fringe.
The university flag has purplish blue background with a yellow and white emblem in the center.
The university emblem features a pentagonal crystal motif, whereas snow crystals, which symbolize the nature of Hokkaido, are usually hexagonal in shape. It was adopted as the emblem of Sapporo University when the university was founded in 1967.
