Located in Nara City Nara Prefecture and established in 1949.
The embroidered ceremonial flag has dark red background with a gold and silver emblem in the center and gold fringe. The university name appears at the bottom hoist.
The university flag has dark red background with a white emblem in the center.
The emblem of the university is a design of the kanji characters "大學" on the Tenpyo Kumo, a series of clouds connected by a thin tail of majestic cloud souls with the fragrance of the Tenpyo period (710-794). Adopted in 1950.
