The double arches in the center of the symbol mark represent "the universe" and "the wisdom of mankind," which are closely associated with science and technology. The three lines extending upward (trio lines) represent the "community," "Japan," and "the world" to which the university should contribute through academics, and the pillars of education: "humanity," "creativity," and "ambition. Together, they form the shape of a large bow drawn toward the sky. The symbol mark embodies the philosophy of Niigata Institute of Technology and symbolizes the high ambition of the university and its students.
