Located in Nagoya City Aichi Prefecture and established in 1939.
The embroidered ceremonial flag has dark green with gold and silver emblem in the center and horizontally written in gold with the English university name in gold fringe.
The emblem of the university is "NU" for Nagoya University with kanji initial “名“and
”大“ inside.
In 1953, another school mark was selected as a commemorative event for the opening of the university by the Executive Committee of the Commemorative Festival, but it was not well received. The NU mark was selected in 1958 at the initiative of the Student Affairs Department through an open competition, and was recognized as the university emblem in 1998.
