The university emblem is in the shape of a mirror of Yata, one of the three sacred weapons that Amaterasu, a goddess revered in Japanese mythology as the creator of the nation, passed down to her descendants, with the first letter of the university name, "名" symbolizing education to create pure people and graceful Japanese women, just like the school mirror.
