Located in Sapporo City Hokkaido Prefecture and established in 1952.
The embroidered ceremonial flag has purplish blue background with a gold-colored emblem in purple fringe.
The university flag has purplish blue background with a yellow emblem.
The university emblem was adopted in October 1952.
The emblem of the university is a design of the Chinese character "大學," with a star in the center, meaning "the Polar star," which means "neat and correct".
